  Introduction

To cater to the thirst for adventure and excitement, Phoenix will promote a high adrenaline program in 2004 called Extreme Adventure Challenge. The show focuses on man's determination to challenge himself and fulfil his primitive desire to conquer nature.

The Deep Seabed - various unsolvable yet thought-provoking myths in modern navigation history are organized chronologically and new technology is used in the investigation process. Will the truth be uncovered? One hundred years ago, ships and submarines were damaged at sea and sank due to the defective quality of communication technology and life-saving equipment. Search and rescue plans were made in vain and numerous crewmembers were buried at the bottom of the ocean. With today's technology and discovery methods, these tragedies are examined and explained and the results are astounding!

Sahara desert - follow an excursion through the blazing heat of the Sahara desert. Watch while Phoenix covers everything from ancient Egyptian society to today's Islamic oil-producing countries, from the ecosystem, culture, legendary icons, and social trade to buildings in the desert.

Climbing Mt. Everest - it is the 50th anniversary of mankind's arrival on the summit of Mt. Everest. Today's visual technological advances enable us to revisit the feat in an enhanced manner and informative narration provides a background to this proud moment. Interviews with those who participated in this magnificent undertaking 50 years ago make known untold stories that unfolded behind the scenes.

Presenter, Avon Hsieh, loves surfing and hiking and is an avid sports fan. Prior to joining Phoenix, Hsieh was a presenter and reporter with various TV stations in Taiwan. "Focusing on Asia while witnessing the world" is her ideal goal. Since Hsieh's arrival at Phoenix, she has covered major events such as the 911 incident and live broadcasts of the Taipei mayor elections.
