The program is often the first to report breaking news from Europe, America and the Middle East, since midnight in Asia is daytime in these locations. In 2001, Phoenix brought audiences coverage of 911 literally as it happened, and instantly translated the news from English media into Chinese to ensure the Chinese community remained fully informed.
